Why Microplastic-Free Matters

Most dish brushes are still made from plastic handles and nylon bristles - a petroleum-based material that sheds microplastics with every scrub.

This brush is a plastic-free replacement for the most-used tool at your kitchen sink.

What's Included

One long-handled bamboo dish brush with sisal bristles, plus one sisal replacement head.

Sizing

Length: 23 cm (9 in)

Brush head diameter: 5 cm (2 in)

Materials & Care

The handle is made from natural bamboo. The bristles are sisal, a plant fibre from the agave sisalana plant.

After each use, rinse the brush and store it bristle-down or hang it to dry.

Why microplastic-free

What cleans your dishes matters

The brush at your kitchen sink is one of the most-used items in your home. They scrubs every plate, pot, and glass your family uses.

Most bristles are still made from synthetic, non-recyclable plastics.

With every scrub, those bristles wear down and shed microplastics directly onto your dishes.

This brush is a plastic-free alternative made from bamboo and sisal. Two natural materials, and nothing synthetic touching your dishes.

What We Use Instead

Why we chose bamboo & sisal

We chose bamboo and sisal for one simple reason: they do the job without plastic.

The bamboo handle is lightweight, durable, and comfortable to hold.

The sisal bristles are tough enough to tackle grease and dried food, with natural plant-based fibres instead of synthetic ones.

Two hardworking materials. One clean swap.

For the messy stuff

A cleaner way to wash up

Washing up is easier when the tool actually does the job properly.

The long handle keeps your hands out of greasy water and gives you better reach, while firm bristles help lift dried-on food from everyday dishes and cookware.

Buy less, keep more

One less thing to keep replacing

When the bristles wear down, you don’t need to throw the whole thing away.

Just swap the head - the handle stays.

Less waste, fewer rebuys, and you're covered with a replacement head from the start.

FAQs

What's included in the set?

One long-handled bamboo dish brush fitted with sisal bristles, plus one sisal replacement head.

What are sisal bristles?

Sisal is a natural plant fibre from the agave sisalana plant. It's stronger and more durable than most natural fibres.

It's also naturally resistant to bacteria, mildew, and oil - making it ideal for everyday dishwashing.

Will it scratch my cookware?

No. Sisal bristles are firm enough to cut through grease and stuck food, but gentle on non-stick, ceramic, stainless steel, cast iron, and carbon steel surfaces.

How does it compare to a sponge?

Brushes dry faster and harbour significantly fewer bacteria than kitchen sponges.

The long handle also keeps your hands out of dirty water and gives you better leverage on tough jobs like pots and baking trays.

How do I replace the head?

When the bristles wear down, slide the old head off and push the new sisal replacement head on.

The handle is designed to be reused - you only replace the part that wears out.

How long will the bristles last?

That depends on how often and how hard you scrub, but with proper care - rinsing after each use and letting the brush dry between uses - each head will last well beyond a standard plastic brush or kitchen sponge.

How do I care for it?

Rinse the brush after each use and store it bristle-down or hang it from the loop to air dry.

The key is keeping it dry between uses. Avoid leaving it soaking in water, as this can cause the bamboo to swell over time.

What if I’m not happy with my set?

You’re covered by our 90-day return policy. If it’s not right for you, contact us within 90 days of delivery and we’ll help with the next steps.

Replacement head is the smart part.

Handle lasts the lifetime of many heads. Paying for a new handle every few months was always the wasteful part. Fixed.

One replacement head included. Thoughtful.

Comes with a spare head from the start. You're not scrambling when the first one wears down.

It hangs. That matters more than I thought.

The loop at the top means it hangs from the tap or a hook. It dries completely between uses. I didn't realise how much the inability to hang a sponge was contributing to the smell problem.

No plastic touching dishes.

Bamboo handle, sisal bristles, food-grade finish. Nothing synthetic touching what my family eats off. Done.

Works on everything.

Pots, pans, glasses, the sink itself. One brush for all of it. Simplified the whole situation.

Replaced the plastic brush completely.

My old plastic dish brush is gone. This handles everything it did but without plastic bristles near my dishes.

Pots, pans, glasses. Handles all of it.

I was worried I'd need different tools for different things. I don't. Pots, pans, glasses, cutlery. One brush.

Sisal is tougher than it looks.

I was expecting sisal to feel flimsy compared to nylon. It doesn't. It's firm and it doesn't splay after a week of use the way cheap brushes do.

M

Sisal bristles on cast iron. Works.

I was nervous about using this on my cast iron. Works perfectly. Firm enough to lift food, gentle enough not to strip the seasoning.

Non-stick safe. Thoroughly tested.

I was nervous about my ceramic pans. No marks after months of use. The sisal is gentle enough.

Plant-based and actually effective.

The eco product category is full of things that don't work. This one works. That's rare enough to be worth noting.

H
Holly Thomas
Baking tray test. Passed.

I tested it on a baking tray with baked-on residue specifically. Handled it without needing to soak first.

Two weeks in. No smell. Genuine surprise.

Two weeks of daily use. No smell. My old sponge would start to smell within three or four days. This doesn't. That alone makes it worth it.

L
Lachlan Richardson
Sisal hasn't splayed after a month.

A month of daily use and the bristles are holding their shape. My old plastic brushes would be splayed by now.

N

Long handle. Hands stay dry.

Small thing but the long handle means I'm not plunging my hand into greasy water. I didn't realise how much I disliked that.

Bamboo handle is comfortable.

The grip is right. Not too thick, not too light. Comfortable for the length of a normal wash-up.

Mum asked about it. Ordered one.

My mum came over, picked up the brush, and ordered her own before she left. That's the endorsement.

Sisal scrubs properly.

Sink area finally looks right.

Bamboo brush, plant-based sponges. The whole sink area is now plastic-free. That took about a month to achieve.

A month of daily use and the bristles haven't splayed. My old plastic brushes would lose their shape within two weeks. These haven't moved.

Replacement head included. That's thoughtful.

The fact that a replacement head comes with it means you're not left scrambling when the bristles wear down. Whoever designed this thought it through.

Baking tray test. Passed.

I was specifically worried about baking trays with baked-on residue. It handles them properly. The firm bristles and long handle give you enough leverage.

The loop at the top is useful.

It hangs from the tap to dry between uses. That's why there's no smell. Small design detail. Big practical difference.
